Stan Bevan

Tahltan-Tlingit and Tsimshian, 

Stan Bevan (b. 1961) is an acclaimed Northwest Coast Artist known for innovative design and meticulous craftsmanship. He trained at 'Ksan in Hazelton, BC (1979) and completed a six-year apprenticeship with master carver Dempsey Bob. Bevan has led major commissions including a totem pole for UBC's First Nations House of Learning, Canada's representative at Expo '92 in Seville, and recent poles honoring Indian Residential School Survivors and celebrating Pacific heritage alongside Dempsey Bob and Lyonel Grant.
