Collection: Unlock Early Literacy- Award-Winning Baby Raven Reads Series
Give your child the gift of early literacy and cultural connection with our Baby Raven Reads Series. Explore Alaska Native Heritage, with culturally rich books for children up to age five. This award-winning program created by Sealaska Heritage Institute features 25 books focused on the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian cultures grounded in research.
Baby Raven Reads helps all children excel through place-based storytelling and traditional oral literature while also fostering a love of reading.
In recognition of SHI’s success in applying research-validated practices to promote literacy through Baby Raven Reads, the Library of Congress selected the program for its 2017 Best Practice Honoree award, making it one of only 15 programs in the world to receive the honor that year.
