Community-Led Conservation in Northern Peru
In the Andes of northern Peru, rural communities face poverty, limited access to services, and dependence on natural resources—putting pressure on fragile ecosystems and endangered wildlife like the spectacled bear.

We work directly with these communities to reduce human-wildlife conflict and protect habitats. By partnering with landowners to establish private protected areas and launching our Felti Program—an income-generating initiative for local women—we offer sustainable alternatives to resource-based livelihoods. Tailored conservation education and our Forest Guardians training empower communities to lead in local conservation efforts.
