Woolly mammoth tusks, found in Arctic regions such as Alaska, Canada, Chukotka, Yakutia, Magadan, and Siberia, can range in age from 10,000 to 200,000 years old and contain unique Schreger lines. These lines create a cross hatching pattern that typically intersect at 90 degrees but can also appear at angles below 100 degrees. The material of these tusks varies in color, with shades of cream, tan, and chocolate brown, although some rare specimens can also display blue or green hues caused by the presence of Vivianite, a mineral that protected the tusk over time.
